Your acceptance in the College of your chosen program is valid and official if you have complied with all the admission requirements and have been acknowledged by the Admission and Registration Office (ARO). Payment of at least 50% of the total assessed fees must be made within three (3) days from the date you passed the college interview to make your enrollment official; otherwise, your slot will be cancelled.

First day of classes is on Monday, June 7, 2010.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR FRESHMAN ADMISSION

School Year 2010 – 2011

Admission is on a FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED basis according to scheduled dates of processing of credentials and subject to availability of slots. In addition to the general criteria set by the University, admission to an academic program depends on the satisfaction of the specific criteria set by the college/department.

  1. WHO CAN BE ADMITTED?
    To be admitted, you must be:
    1. a PUPCET passer based on the cut-off score set for the current school year and graduate with a general weighted average (GWA) of 82% or higher from DepEd recognized/accredited secondary school; or
    2. a PUPCET passer and eligible for admission to college with an average rating of 82 or higher in the five subject areas: Mathematics, Communication Arts (English), Science, Communication Arts (Filipino), and Araling Panlipunan of the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT); or
    3. a PUPCET passer and passed the Alternative Learning System Accreditation & Equivalency Test (ALS A & E) Test for Secondary Level, eligible for admission to college and has 100 or higher Standard Score (SS) with Essay Writing of 2 or higher; or
    4. a qualified entrance scholar.

  2. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE ADMITTED?
    1. Required Credentials:
      Original and two (2) photocopies of the following:
      1. Confirmation slip for admission (downloaded from PUP Website)
      2. High school card (Form 138)
      3. Certification of good moral character duly signed by the high school principal/guidance counselor of the school last attended
      4. NSO authenticated copy of birth certificate
      5. Medical clearance from the PUP Medical Clinic
      6. If graduated in previous school year/s, certification from the High School Principal and/or Registrar that you have never been enrolled in any college or university and that the copy of Form 137A has not been sent to other school/college/university with school dry seal
      7. If Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) qualifier, duly authenticated/verified copy of the Certificate of Rating obtained and Certification issued by the Department of Education (CMO No. 15, s. 2003)
      8. If ALS A & E Test qualifier, Certificate of Test Result and Completion Certificate for Secondary Level.
    2. Other Requirements:
      1. Have met the PUPCET cut-off score and high school general average set by the department/college
      2. Have passed the interview conducted by the College Dean or by a committee created for such purpose
      3. For applicants whose 4th Year High School English grade is 80 or below, Certificate of English Placement Test Result to be obtained from the PUP College of Languages and Linguistics
      4. For entrance scholars, Entrance Scholarship Committee Route and Approval Sheet (ESCRAS) duly signed by the members of the concerned committee and one (1) photo copy of the credentials submitted for scholarship grant.
      5. Two (2) pieces of 2” x 2” colored photo with white background and nameplate

NOTE: The name indicated in your birth certificate must be the same as the name appearing in all of your admission credentials. Otherwise, a notarized Affidavit of Discrepancy must be submitted together with the required credentials. Only applicants with complete credentials will be interviewed.

Submission of any falsified/tampered documents and/or concealment of information constitutes a ground for disqualification.

Enrollment Advisory for Freshmen, SY 2010-2011

TO ALL QUALIFIED PUPCET EXAMINEES:

  1. Visit the PUP Website for online confirmation of your scheduled date of processing of credentials, interview, and enrolment.
  2. Click the "I Confirm" button to finalize your academic program choices.
  3. Click the “PRINT THIS DOCUMENT” button to print the SAR Form 1 with Route and Approval Slip.
  4. If your final 4th year high school English grade is 80% or lower, report to the College of Languages and Linguistics AVR, Room S-411, 4th Floor, South Wing, PUP Sta. Mesa Campus on April 12-16, 2010, 9:00-11:30AM / 1:00-4:30PM to take the English Placement Test (EPT).
  5. On the date of your scheduled credentials processing as reflected in your SAR Form 1, follow the steps below:

    Step 1. Go to the PUP Medical Clinic and present your SAR Form 1 and the result of your chest X-ray (with film taken this year, 2010) to secure a medical clearance. (Mobile X-ray units are available at the PUP Sta. Mesa Campus from March 15 to April 16, 2010 Monday to Friday, except holidays, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Be guided by the scheduled date and time indicated in your SAR Form 1.

    Step 2. Submit your medical clearance and other admission requirements to the Admission Officer on your scheduled date of processing of credentials, interview, and enrolment. Non-appearance on your scheduled date of interview would mean automatic forfeiture of your slot.

    Step 3. Proceed to the College offering the program of your first choice for interview by the Dean or Chairperson. In case you are not qualified or there is no more available slot in your first choice, you can go to the college of your second or third choice until you get the approval for acceptance in your desired program.

    Step 5. Get the hard copy of your Registration Certificate from the Admission and Registration Office (ARO) on your scheduled date of release. Surrender your SAR Form 1 to ARO.

    Step 6. Present your Registration Certificate when you secure a Student ID on the scheduled date to be announced later.
